Study Streak
The Study Streak widget will show you how many days in a row you’ve studied with WaniKani. Studied can mean doing either lessons or reviews, and it can mean either doing one of those or 1,000 (or above 1,000, but you get the point).
The widget is meant to motivate you to use WaniKani even just a little bit on the days where time or motivation is in short supply. After all, doing just one review is better than doing zero.
If you haven’t done any reviews or lessons yet for the day, you’ll see a black hole where the durtle should be.
Once you’ve studied a little for the day, you’ll see the durtle! This is how you know your streak will continue.
That said, sometimes life has other plans and getting to visit WaniKani is simply impossible. Or you just plumb forgot. In these cases, we have offerings to the Crabigator. These allow you to preserve your streak even if you miss a day.
You’ll start with two offerings, which is the most you can have at a single time. If you miss a day of studying, an offering is used to preserve your streak. Once an offering is used, you have to wait seven days until you get it back.
This means you can miss up to two days of studying in any seven day period. The days can be back to back or they can be spaced apart. But remember, if you miss a day of studying without having an offering to give to the Crabigator, your streak will be broken!
When you’re customizing the widget, you’ll have the option to show or hide your best streak ever. Can you beat your own personal record?
